Does_grey_matter
?? I like the marble shaped spheres that appeared. Strobist / setup - A white plastic sheet is laid over a speaker. - Black and white water based paint drops are placed on the sheet. - Sound is passed through the speaker via an ipod through a stereo. This causes the drops to dance. - A modified HiViz sound trigger is used to fire two flashes. - 2 - SB-800 flashes used, set to 1/32 power.
Ghostly_Intervention
The "ghost" seems to be intervening between the demons and the intended victim -- good Casper! Drops of water-diluted black tempura paint placed in close proximity. I added some white paint in between. Setup: - A sheet of plastic is placed over a balloon which is stretched over a speaker. - Sound (a portion of a song..) is passed through the speaker, causing the plastic to vibrate. - Drops of liquid are placed on the sheet and "jump" to the vibration. - A Stop Shot flash trigger detects the sounds with a mic and is used to fire two SB-800 flashes set on either side. - Another SB-800 is set to optical slave behind. - Converted to B&W in Lightroom 3, also some contrast levels were adjusted as well.
Rendezvous_at_White_Oak
I like the "Oak" tree in between. Three drops of water-diluted black tempura paint placed in close proximity.
Oil_Dance
Big Oil is dancing on your dollar.... I was originally trying to show a leaky oil gusher on a dollar bill, but didn't quite nail it. I liked the way this one came out., however, especially the dancing dude. Strobist / Setup - Two drops of black, water based paint on a dollar bill print. - Print was glued to a balloon which was stretched across a speaker. - Sound was pumped through a stereo and drove the speaker. - HiViz modified sound trigger was used for the flashes. - 2 - SB-800 flashes were used, set to 1/64th power. One was in front, below the camera and the other was at 9 o'clock and bounced off white foamboard behind.
